I welcome motivated undergraduate and postgraduate students to join the High Voltage Engineering Research Group at the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT (BHU) Varanasi. Our group provides an excellent platform to begin or advance your research career in the field of High voltage engineering, Condition monitoring of power equipment, Advanced electrical insulation technologies and related areas.

Students with strong academic backgrounds and a genuine interest in high voltage systems and advanced electrical insulation technologies are encouraged to apply for the M.Tech. and Ph.D. programs at IIT (BHU). Once admitted, interested candidates may contact me via email or visit my office to discuss possible research collaborations.

Our current research primarily focuses on:

  • Asset management and reliability of high voltage and power equipment

  • Condition monitoring and diagnostics of electrical insulation systems

  • Cryogenic dielectrics and advanced insulating materials

  • Signal and image–based condition assessment techniques

  • Applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning in high voltage engineering

A strong foundation in mathematics and proficiency in programming (MATLAB, Python, or similar platforms) are desirable for research in these areas.

In addition, research-oriented undergraduate students from other institutes are encouraged to apply for summer or winter internships by sending their CV/resume via email.
