About Super Computing Centre
Super Computing Centre was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 19th February, 2019, under National Super Computer Mission. This is the first super computer developed and installed under this mission (launched in 2015 as part of Make in India initiative) in India by MeitY.
It is named appropriately as PARAM SHIVAY as being first in the series and in the holy city of Varanasi (land of Baba Vishwanath).

  • PARAM Shivay supercomputer facility of IIT BHU has helped me a lot in pursuing my research work. The molecular docking studies on the target biological macro molecules especially proteins narrow down the search for suitable ligand molecules that can interact well with the receptor and either stabilize it or modify its activity or function. Molecular dynamics simulation mimics the cell condition and thus validates the in-silico experiments. Such studies save the time, energy, and resources of the researchers for the actual wet-lab experiments. They speed up the drug discovery process and have immense application in the medical field. I am grateful to the PARAM Shivay support team for solving any issues during simulation studies. The helping desk members are always prompt in their actions.

  • PARAM Shivay has been of immense benefit to my PhD students and researchers in my lab. My research area is deep learning and without the access to PARAM Shivay system, many of the articles that are currently under review would not have seen the light of the day. The PARAM Shivay facility has been one of the best managed facility I have every come across. The helpdesk responds promptly to any query and provide support to the maximum extent possible. I am also grateful for the team for helping with resolving space related issues while using the facility. The facility is outstanding and perhaps even better than some of the commercially available resources that are super expensive!
