Dr. Ajay Pratap is currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, India. He previously held the position of Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Computer Science at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, USA, from August 2018 to December 2019. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Patna in July 2018. Dr. Pratap's research spans a broad spectrum of areas including Cyber-Physical Systems, Statistical Learning, Algorithm Design for Next-Generation Wireless Networks, Mobile Computing and Networking, Applied Graph Theory, and Game Theory. His current focus is on cutting-edge topics such as Heterogeneous Networks (HetNets), Small Cells, Fog Computing, Smart Healthcare, Smart Agriculture, Internet of Things (IoT), and Device-to-Device (D2D) Communication within 5/6G and beyond cellular infrastructures. He has published extensively in prestigious international journals and conferences, including IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, and ACM MSWiM. His work has received several accolades, such as the Best Paper Award and an NSF Travel Grant at IEEE SmartComp in the USA. In recognition of his contributions to the field, Dr. Pratap was honored with the Young Engineer Award in Computer Engineering at the 36th National Convention of Computer Engineers, organized by the Institution of Engineers (India) on October 16, 2023. He is also the recipient of the Start-up Research Grant (SRG) awarded by the Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB), Government of India, for his sponsored research project titled "Resource-Optimized Fog Computing for Smart Healthcare Applications in IoT-enabled Heterogeneous Networks" (2020–2022). In addition to his academic and research pursuits, Dr. Pratap actively contributes to various international conferences and workshops in multiple capacities. He also serves as an Associate Editors for prestigious journal Scientific Reports, published by Springer Nature and Wireless Personal Communications, published by Springer.
