Dr. Shweta Singh
Dr. Shweta Singh is presently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at IIT (BHU) Varanasi. She holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from IIT Guwahati, where her research focused on holistic treatment approach for the bioremediation of acid mine drainage (AMD) from North Eastern coalfield (NEC), Assam using different configurations of constructed wetlands (CWs). Prior to joining IIT (BHU), Dr. Singh worked as a Research Associate at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Wayne State University (WSU), Detroit, USA. In this position, she worked on a Pilot Scale Drinking Water Project, which was a collaborative effort of Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) & WSU, focusing on the calibration and validation of the pilot plant as a predictive model of full-scale plant behavior.
Her research interests include water and wastewater treatment, heavy metal removal, bioreactors, resource recovery, and decentralized treatment systems such as constructed wetlands. In her research domain, she have published several peer-reviewed articles in reputed journals. Dr. Singh is particularly passionate about exploring potential sustainable solutions for water/wastewater management.
