Dr. Ravi Panwar
Dr. Ravi Panwar is an Associate Professor at the Interdisciplinary School of Materials Science and Technology, IIT (BHU), Varanasi, where he leads cutting-edge research at the intersection of materials, electronics, and emerging communication technologies. Prior to joining the IIT (BHU) in 2022, he served as an Assistant Professor at IIIT Jabalpur (2017-2022) and as a Visiting Professor at the Opto-Electro-Robotics Lab, KAIST, South Korea. An Electronics and Communication Engineer by training, Dr. Panwar earned his Ph.D from IIT Roorkee in 2015 and subsequently undertook postdoctoral research at KAIST under the Brain Korea Research Fellowship. He is a Senior Member of IEEE (SMIEEE’19) and a leading expert in electromagnetic technology. Dr. Panwar's research portfolio includes EMI mitigation techniques, stealth & radome technology, advanced electrical & electronic materials, metamaterials, frequency selective surfaces, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, antennas, AI/ML-driven design of next-generation materials and structures suited to 5G/6G applications. Dr. Panwar has strong application-oriented, government-funded project engagements, holding significant commercialization potential. He has supervised numerous Master’s and Ph.D. students, authored over 100 peer-reviewed research articles, secured five patents, and delivered more than 40 keynote, invited, and expert lectures worldwide. Alongside his regular teaching and research activities at IIT (BHU), he actively contributes to several academic and research committees in India.
