Institute Works Department (IWD)

Infrastructure development is the need of the hour for us. Ever since its inception in the year 2014, Institute Works Department (IWD) in IIT(BHU) shoulders the onus of major/minor repairs, maintenance, retrofitting, renovation and development of infrastructure along with proper operation and sustenance of existing utility lines.
Depending upon the extent and quantum of work, IWD floats online tenders to award work-contracts to various vendors/contractors to execute maintenance/development related works of IIT(BHU) under compliance of GFR and standard practices of Civil/Electrical Engineering. The Institute Works Department (IWD) in IIT(BHU) is the backbone of all the physical infrastructure within campus. It functions under the aegis of the Superintending Engineer, IWD. This team consists of the dedicated technical and non-technical staff working round the clock to ensure the ceaseless functioning of the Institute.

  • SCADA system also pertain to the prime responsibility of IWD.
