The School of Biomedical Engineering is involved in Teaching and Research in collaboration with Institute of Medical Sciences (BHU), and with other Departments of IIT(BHU). The School follows a constant path of progress and diversification to be in pace with the time of change. The School runs the Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) program that offers B. Tech in Bioengineering and M. Tech in Biomedical Technology, besides there is also a two year M. Tech program in Biomedical Engineering. The school time to time updates the curriculum, introduces newelectives and new practical components according to the requirements. The objective of the School is to play an important role in the development of Biomedical Engineers. The research credentials of the School is multifarious and interdisciplinary so as to integrate all the thematic of the field in one common pool and thereby achieve progress is unison.

“Focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy is found not in finishing an activity, but in doing it.”

Learning is the process of constantly updating in an ever changing world. The entire teaching and learning process in SBME involves training of Head, Heart, and Hands. Here, in SBME, students gather the conceptual understandings, acquire the Knowledge, enhance the skills, apply them as an action component and empower them with right Attitude. The trans-disciplinary nature of the program transcends the subject barriers and instils the mentors to train the students from both Engineering as well as Science aspects of technology with application to Biomedical Engineering areas. Students are given the opportunity to explore the new dimensions of learning in the field of Biomedical engineering through the concept of practice-theory-practice, the same is reflected through our course curriculum specifically designed to meet the challenges in the diversified field of Biomedical engineering. I will like to end with the quote of Albert Einstein:

“Imagination is more important than knowledge, for while knowledge defines all that we currently know and understand, imagination points to all we might yet discover and create.”
